Abstract

We have discussed possibilities for launching the speciality Information Design as pilot programme at the University of Rousse as well as joint work in the fields teaching and research.

In 2002 we laid out and prepared documents, including the academic plans for BSc and MSc for the new specialty Information Design.

Industrial Design has been developing in tandem with Information Design and the two can be regarded as an organic whole with reference to design culture.

Following our research and educational Paradigma of Design we are planning to introduce a second subject Information design which is based on our own curriculum for BSc and MSc degree towards the great experience we have gained so far.

Our paradigm of information design:

Finally I would like to inform you that we are willing to place the details of our program at your disposal as a reason to make contacts each other and provide useful collaboration, interaction or beneficial support.

We would be honored to work with you together in the offered fields.

Best regards! Prof. Dr.-Ing. Nikola At. Orloev Head of The Department of Industrial Design

THE INFORMATION DESIGN IS OUR TRAIN TO THE FUTURE AND INTO IT

The Winds of Changes

New acquisitions and characteristics of design:

  1. Design is becoming "global" on "all-embracing" on the trinity:
"TEHNICAL DECISIONS+ ERGONOMIC DECISIONS + ARTIST DECISIONS"
However this trinity is unique as regards its range of variants.
    • Design is irreversibly being established as THIRD LAYER OF HUMAN CULTURE alongside with science and art.
      • DESIGN IS "PROJECTED CULTURE"
    • However design is not to be regarded as a mechanical mix of science and art.
      • DESIGN IS A NEW PHENOMENON "something" on the borderline between science and art.
    • Design is becoming knowledge of a new type:
      • Design is not engineering, technologies, designing, art, aesthetics ...
      • It is all the above and more
  2. THE TRANSFER OF KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNOLOGIES is becoming focus of research and innovation in design.
  3. Design is becoming a HIGH INTELLECTUAL TECHNOLOGY.
  4. As well as creating products, design should also offer new services, i.e. new type services. For example: INTELLECTUAL SERVICES
  5. Design is turning into a powerful MARKETING INSTRUMENT.
  6. Design requires a new personality: "INDIVIDUAL LEADER"
