Creative Thinking

Do not follow the steps of your predecessors but do look for what they have been looking for.

Descartes" System -
A school of creative thinking

"I may not be cleverer than the others but I have a method"

Rene Descartes (1596 - 1650)

I first heard the name of Rene Descartes, one of the greatest minds and founder of the new philosophy during the first semesters of my university studies.

The charisma of his personality, which has outlived his century, struck my mind with his impressive project - the creation of Regulać ad directionen ingenii (Rules for guiding one's mind).

In his work R.Descartes intended to present a universal method for solving problems by reducing them to solving equations. But he realized that there were cases when his system was not applicable. That's why he left his "Rules…." unfinished, and later published only fragments of his project in his much more popular work Discours de la methode" ("Reflection on the method")

In the philosophy of Descartes's project there is profound truth and it impresses us with its grandeur, despite its untimeliness.

The fantastic greatness of this project, facing indecisiveness, has marked my conscience forever. At present, its dimensions project themselves into artificial intelligence.

Without overrating my modest intellectual abilities, I was obsessed by my vision to build a Method/System for effective thinking.

Ideas and patterns piled with time and brilliant authors and schools such as George Polya, Eduard de Bono, G.S. Altshuler and others helped to give new meaning to my ideas and develop them. But the thought of something new and different was far more insurmountable than the answers...

"The Key" was close to the lock in 1976 when I indulged in heuristics and devoted my time to enthusiastic analyses, research and applications of this method in education and practice. It worked even better when the inconsistence between the huge variety of real projects and creative tasks and the inadequate choice of methods, techniques, technologies, strategies, objective and subjective factors for identifying and solving them was overcome.

Gradually the scheme revealed its structure and contents, and the Method acquired realistic dimensions.

In 1985 it was introduced in Rousse University as part of the training in creative methods. The Method turned out to be a System which impressed by its high efficiency and observable growth in training creative personalities.

It is only natural that it should be titled "Descartes System". As an author I am proud and happy that the name of Rene Descartes acquires new dimensions in the modern world of knowledge.

The System, which developed into a new school for creative thinking in the process of synthesizing/analyzing, assessing and making decisions, includes 6(six) main factors, of which three are of an objective nature and the remaining three are of a subjective nature.

"Descartes" System ("Descartes") for building and developing creative thinking and efficient behaviour and acting in synthesizing/analyzing, assessing and making decisions

(Egocentric hexagonal model of the "Descartes" system for effective thinking and acting in solving creative problems and tasks)

I am fully prepared to share information, experience, results, publications, books, etc. with anyone expressing interest, for which I thank you in advance.
